RantCell application is a true network benchmark tool to measure key performance indicators (KPI) such as data speed, voice calls, SMS test, ping(latency), dropped calls of 2G(GSM,GPRS and EDGE), 3G(UMTS,HSDPA,HSPA and HSPA+), 4G(LTE), 5G(NR), Wi-Fi and CDMA mobile network by performing repetitive speed test, sms test, HTTP download test, ping(latency) and voice calls.
MCC, MNC, PSC, Cell ID, RSSI/RSCP, Data type(UMTS, HSPA, HSPA+ or Wi-Fi), and 5G NR parameters. (Datasheet link with button) are logged by RantCell Pro App while tests are in progress and can be exported once test campaigns are completed.
Yes, it can be used as drive test tool. For more information about this please visit RantCell. More detail here - https://www.rantcell.com/qoe-drive-testing.html
RantCell is designed to work on Android OS v2.3 onwards, however due to many flavours of Android versions and OEMs, we have listed the supported devices. These devices have been thoroughly tested. Please refer to the list of RantCell supported devices - https://www.rantcell.com/rantcell-supported-devices.html
Let's assume if a user performs 10 iterations of Ping and Speed test on RantCell App and it took 10 minutes to complete the testing on RantCell Pro app, then 10mins shall be deducted from your monthly allowance minutes. We do this model of charging as data uploaded shall be using our cloud server resources and protect ourselves from excessive usage. Also, please note that the testing minutes will be deducted from account only when test shows “Completed/Uploaded” status on RantCell Pro app. If you have more than one Android phone registered and if tests are run in parallel in two Android phones, the minutes deduction is based on individual tests on each of Android phones. If there are queries, please email to sales@rantcell.com or click here https://www.rantcell.com/corporate-plan.html

RantCell Video Stream testing feature is designed to measure video watching experience on smart mobile device connected over 2G/3G/4G/Wi-Fi networks by calculating video QoE parameters such as Launch Time, Load Time, Stalled Time and Total Video Play Time.
Which of the parameters measured during stream test?
1. What is launch time and how is it calculated?
The time taken by the player to launch web view with main frame
Calculation : Launch time = Total time taken between Initializing to initialized time
2. What is Load Time and how is it calculated?
The time taken for the player to load the video resources into web view
Calculation : Load time = Total time taken between loading to loaded time
3. What is stalled time and how is it calculated?
Stalled time is total time on which user experienced video stalling while video playing
Calculation : Stalled time: Sum of the total time for which video stalled between video starts playing to video end
4. What is stalled count and how is it calculated?
Stalled count is the number of times user experienced video stalling while playing
Calculation : Stalled count: Sum of the total video stalled count between video starts playing to video end
5. What is Elapsed time and how is it calculated?
Actual elapsed time is the amount of time taken to play the video from start to end
Calculation : Total elapsed time: Sum of initial buffer time, launch time, stalled time and actual video length
6. How is video performance rating calculated and categories of it?
By using below algorithm, RantCell rates the video performance into three categories. Video performance rating = (Load Time+ launch time+ stalled time) * 100 /Actual video length
Video Performance Rating Category
7. How to analyse video performance rating is Good, Fair or Poor?
Based on the below calculation: (Video performance rating = (Load Time+ launch time+ stalled time) * 100 /Actual video length)
If the video performance rating calculation is between 0-5% - Video performance rated as Good
If the video performance rating calculation is between 5-10% - Video performance rated as Fair
If the video performance rating calculation is above 10% - Video performance rated as Poor
